Career
Lieutenant Lee Aquila started his career with the San Jose Police Department as a Police Officer in December 2008. While at the San Jose Police Department, he was assigned to Patrol and worked as a Field Evidence Technician. In July 2011, Lee was sworn in as a Police Officer with the Daly City Police Department, where he served as a Patrol Officer and Motor Officer. He also held collateral assignments as a Field Training Officer and was a member of the Major Accident Investigation Team. In 2020, he was promoted to Sergeant, where he was initially responsible for the direct supervision of Patrol Teams. During this time, he also served as the Sergeant for the Major Accident Investigation Team and helped start the Peer Support Team. As a Sergeant, he was later assigned to the Training Division, where he served as the Field Training Program Manager. On December 21, 2024, Lee was promoted to Lieutenant and assigned as a Watch Commander on Patrol for Division A-1. Lee is also currently the Field Training Program Coordinator.
Education
Lieutenant Lee Aquila graduated from Junipero Serra High School and then attended California State University, Chico, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 2003. Lee is also a graduate of the Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute. The Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute is a program designed to stimulate personal growth, leadership, and ethical decision-making in California Law Enforcement front-line supervisors.
