Commercial Business means any firm, partnership, proprietorship, joint-stock company, corporation, or association, whether for-profit or nonprofit, strip mall or industrial facility.
Organics collection waiver requests can be submitted for one of two reasons: De Minimis (Minimal Generation) or Physical Space Constraints, per the definitions below. Documentation demonstrating that your site is eligible for a waiver, such as photographs or site plans, must be provided in "Section 5. Supporting Documents."
Minimal Generation (De Minimis)Site receives 2 or more cubic yards/week total solid waste service (garbage + recycling + organics), and generates less than 20 gallons/week organic waste- or -Site receives less than 2 cubic yards/week total solid waste service (garbage + recycling + organics), and generates less than 10 gallons/week organic waste.
Physical Space ConstraintsPremises lack adequate space for organic waste containers.

The standard method of compliance with mandatory recycling and organics laws is through collection service provided by a waste hauler. However, other methods may be employed as well, as defined below:
SharedMaterials are recycled through shared collection service paid for by a neighboring business.
Self-HaulEmployee(s) transport materials to a recycling facility.
BackhaulMaterials are transported to a central location owned by the business or an affiliate for on-site recycling or shipping to a recycling facility.
LandscaperLandscaping contractor transports yard waste to a recycling facility.
On-SiteMaterials are recycled on-site, most commonly via composting.
