On February 12, 2024, Daly City was the first City in the United States to declare loneliness a public health crisis. Daly City is committed to taking steps as a unified community to build stronger social connections by cultivating a culture of connection and promoting positive everyday interactions and norms to enhance relationships.
Following this declaration, the City began programming more events than ever before to combat loneliness and social isolation in the community.
