The Daly City Safe Routes to School (SRTS) project aims to improve bicycle and pedestrian safety, focusing on the areas around Thomas R. Pollicita Middle, John F. Kennedy Elementary and Susan B. Anthony Elementary Schools. The City has developed concepts for bicycle and pedestrian improvements along E Market Street and Hillside Boulevard and is looking for your feedback.
These improvements include:
- Reallocation of right-of-way along E Market Street from Hillside Boulevard to Price Street and Hillside Boulevard from Teresa Street to Sylvan Street to include bicycle facilities by converting the existing four lane roadway to three lane roadway
- Buffered bicycle lanes and parking protected bicycle lanes, where feasible
- Curb bulb-outs and high visibility crosswalks at intersections
- Right-turn pocket into Thomas R Pollicita Middle School for passenger loading
- Implement an all-way stop control at Price Street
