The City is partnering with its waste hauler, Republic Services, to host its first free compost giveaway for 2023. Compost will be available on a first come, first serve basis beginning Thursday, April 27 through Friday, April 28, 2023 between the hours of 9AM-4PM, while supplies last. The event will be held at the Department of Water & Wastewater Resources located at 153 Lake Merced Blvd., Daly City, 94015. To participate in the compost giveaway, please bring a sturdy container, shovels, and gloves for this self-serve event. Residents must show proof of residency and are limited to 0.5 cubic yards of compost (equivalent to a 96-gallon cart) per household.
