Career
Lieutenant Peter Skeehan started his Daly City career as a Patrol Officer in 2011, where he served as a Field Training Officer, Range Master, Defensive Tactics Instructor, Taser Instructor and SWAT Team Member and later SWAT Team Leader. In 2018, Peter was promoted to Sergeant and was responsible for the direct supervision of Patrol Teams. He was then assigned as the Sergeant for the Investigations Division in 2020. He was later assigned as the Investigations Division Commander where he oversaw Detectives, Crime Suppression Officers, and Task Force Special Agents before he rotated back to Patrol. On November 3, 2023, Peter was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and assigned as the Watch Commander on Patrol for Division A-2.
Education
After graduating high school, Lieutenant Skeehan volunteered for 2 years for a non-profit organization. He then served active duty in the U.S. Navy as a SEAL for 8-years. Lieutenant Skeehan earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from San Jose State University and completed his Master’s degree in Business Administration from Arizona State University in 2020. Lieutenant Skeehan is a graduate of the Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute. The Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute is a program designed to stimulate personal growth, leadership, and ethical decision-making in California Law Enforcement front-line supervisors.
