Charles A. Hill, Commissioner

Charles A. Hill is the Founder & CEO of LSH Investments, Inc., based in Oakland, CA.   LSHI owns multiple businesses: Laundry Services, (dba “Top of the Hill Clean Laundromat” - Daly City), and Hill-Tucker, LLC, (Real Estate Investment and Asset Management). As CEO, he is responsible for business growth, operational management and real estate investment. Charles has over 25 years of sales, real estate, operations and financial management experiences in both small and large organizations. He has demonstrated success with turnarounds of underperforming businesses and real estate assets, while driving improvements in operating cash-flows and equity values. 

Charles’ professional career includes executive level positions with Fortune 500 and startup companies in the Commercial Banking, Consumers Products, Transportation and Technology industries, (Procter & Gamble, Wells Fargo & Co., CSX Transportation and CommerceNet, Inc.).

Charles graduated with an Associate of Science in General Studies from Corning Community College in 1984, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Florida A&M University in 1988, and MBA in Finance from Clark Atlanta University in 1997. A believer in “life-long learning”, Charles has pursued Executive Education at several “Top Tier” Institutions. He graduated in 2007 from the University of Southern California’s Ross Program in Real Estate Finance & Development, and in 2019, he successfully completed the Tuck School of Business, (at Dartmouth), Entrepreneurs Business Program.

In addition to his business pursuits, Charles is passionate about positively impacting “academically underperforming” kids of color. His goal is to inspire their interests in education, while teaching them useful life skills. He is a mentor and has taught business finance and management classes to high school students. Additionally, he is a member of the 100 Black Men, SF Bay Area chapter, he served as past Board Member, and chairperson of the Education & Scholarship committee. Charles also served as a Loan Committee member for the Northern California Small Business Financial Development Corporation. Most importantly, he is a proud father of a 13 years daughter, who is a competitive dancer, and who affectionately refers to him as “Dance Dad”.
