In mid-July, Target announced their support for
DCPD’s Graffiti Abatement Program by selecting
our department to receive a $1,500 grant award
to purchase a “Graffiti Sensor”, a
device which detects the emission of an aerosol
device (i.e. spray paint can) and alerts the Police
Department via a text message system.
In 1990, Target established
their Law Enforcement Grant Program which supports
criminal justice agencies working to make communities
safer. Because graffiti continues to be at the
top of our list of quality of life issues, we
thank Target for supporting and partnering with
local Law Enforcement to assist us in our efforts
to address this issue.
