Established
in 1934, the Daly City Parks and Recreation Department
serves Daly City, portions of San Francisco, Colma,
Brisbane, South San Francisco and Pacifica. Today,
the Department offers over 500 classes, sponsors
adult, teen, and youth athletic leagues, aquatic
programs, gymnastics, youth and teen services as
well as a comprehensive senior adult program, park
maintenance, hall rentals, special events and more.
The Department employs over 200 youth as lifeguards,
recreational staff, park aides and as camp counselors
on a continuous basis.
Classes
A large part of the Department's service to the
community comes through the variety of classes that
are offered. Continuous and new classes restart
every three months. Our Leisure Guide, published
seasonally, provides a comprehensive listing of
all our sites and programs. The Leisure Guide is
mailed out to all of the homes in Daly City. The
Leisure Guide is available at all city buildings
and Libraries.

Special
Programs for Youth and Teens
The Youth Recreation Program provides an exciting
and positive recreation diversion of well-rounded
activities for children ages 6-12 years (1st – 6th
grade). Each youth recreation program is staffed
by no less then two trained and dedicated recreation
specialists and offers a wide variety of supervised
activities such as arts and crafts, music, sports
and games, homework assistance and other recreational

Calling
All TEENS! You are invited to plan, organize and
participate in “teen driven” activities and programs.
Join this powerful group of teens at they create
change within our community! We meet every 2nd Wednesday
of the month from 6:15-7:15pm at the Lincoln Park
Community Center, 901 Brunswick Street in Daly City.

| Aquatics
|
Our
Aquatics Department offers recreational and lap swimming,
lessons for all ages, and pool parties. The Giammona-Westmoor
Pool is a year-round indoor, heated swimming facility
that features a large therapy pool and a 10' water
slide. The pool is located at 131 Westmoor Avenue
at the south end of Westmoor High School. The Jefferson
Pool, only open during the Summer, is also an indoor
heated swimming facility. It's located at Jefferson
High School, 6996 Mission Street. Lap swim, recreation
swim, swimming lessons, pool parties and more are
available at the pools..
Athletics
The Parks and Recreation Department offers diverse
athletic programs for sport enthusiasts of all ages.
Throughout the year we offer flag football, kickball,
tennis, baseball, hockey, basketball and volleyball
for youth. For adults we offer softball, basketball,
volleyball, roller hockey and tennis. All programs
are run at different times throughout the year. To

We will be holding separate coaching and umpiring
clinics this Fall and Winter. More information will

The Parks and Recreation Department also maintains
Senior Recreation Services throughout Daly City. The
two major senior sites are the Doelger Senior Center
and the Lincoln Park Nutrition Center. Thanks to the
250 volunteers at the Doelger Cafe and another 150
at the Lincoln Clubhouse we are able to offer many
wonderful senior services. For further information

Then, why not teach a class doing what interests you!
The Daly City Parks and Recreation Department is actively
recruiting new instructors. Whether you would like
to teach tots, youths, teens, adults or seniors, we
would like to hear from you and talk about your ideas.
Classes can be taught in the form of a workshop, lecture
or weekly class. If you are interested in sharing
your expertise with the community, please call Leslie
