SECURITY BARS RETROFIT GRANT ~

YOUR FAMILY ESCAPE A FIRE? |

and your family are at risk in the event of a fire
or other emergency if your security bars or grills
do not open from the inside. |

The
number of window bars, grills and security doors in
Daly City has been increasing everyday. The safety
of these items concerns the City Council along with
the Police and Fire Departments because they
may prevent residents from escaping from their homes
in an emergency. |

|
Replacement
of security grills on bedroom windows and exterior
doors is expensive but must be done to insure the
safety of both family and friends. To help with this
requirement Daly City’s City Council has approved
the use of Community Development block grant funds,
grants of up to $1,500 under the Residential Rehab
Program, to assist income eligible homeowners with
this vital task. Additionally, smoke detectors must
be installed in each sleeping room, hallway leading
to bedrooms and each floor level. |

Paper
work is minimal; A written estimate showing the work
to be done including the cost and a mini-application
with copies of supporting documentation. NO REPAYMENT
REQUIRED for all grants !!! |
