Title:
Public Information Assistant
Department:
Parks and Recreation Department - Marketing Team
Location:
Westlake Community Center, 111 Lake Merced Blvd.
Shifts available:
Flexible
Time commitment:
Monday - Friday, between 9 am to 5 pm
16 - 20 hours per week minimum
4 - 6 weeks minimum commitment
Description:



The ideal volunteer Public Information Assistant will be someone with good networking skills and ability to seek sponsorships for recreation programs in a professional manner.

 
Example of Duties:
  • Creating and maintaining contacts with community groups, local businesses and corporations
  • Finding outside funding for special events and a variety of recreational programming
Qualifications:




  • Must be at least a high school senior
  • Have interpersonal skills, knowledge of general office procedures, word processing, filing
  • Marketing knowledge a plus
