Description:
|
The volunteer Administrative Aide will assist the
Management Analyst in the City Manager's Office in
the following project areas: recycling, employee transportation,
refuse disposal, environmental legislation, public
information campaigns, and community beautification.

Example of Duties: The
volunteer will gain hands-on experience in a variety
of projects:
-
commercial and industrial waste stream characterization
studies.

site visits to businesses in Daly City.
-
assess the volume of recyclable materials discarded
by local businesses.
-
outline strategies to improve commercial recycling
efforts.
-
track pending legislation that may affect the
City's current recycling efforts.
-
evaluate employee transportation issues to determine
the effectiveness of public transportation options
available to commuters.
-
develop strategies to promote alternatives to
driving to work.
More complex research and analytical projects
will be offered to exceptional volunteers.
Training and orientation will be provided. The
volunteer and Management Analyst will coordinate
a weekly training/work schedule.

Qualifications:
|
A recent college graduate or student currently enrolled
in an accredited four-year university is preferred.
Course work in Environmental Studies, Public Administration,
Business Administration or English is desired, but
not required.
A valid California driver's license and proof of insurance
are requested.
