S. Citizens who will be at least 18 years old by election
day and who are not currently in prison or on parole
for the conviction of a felony are eligible and encouraged
to register and vote.
If
you have recently moved, you need to reregister with
your new address. To have a voter registration form
mailed to you, please call the Clerk’s office
at (650) 991-8078, or e-mail your request to cityclerk@dalycity.org.

Some supporting facts . . . . .
One
vote gave Adolf Hitler control of the Nazi party, changing
the destiny of the world.
In
1850, one vote made California part of the United States.
In
1948, Harry Truman was re-elected by a margin of one
vote per precinct in California.
In
1960, three votes per precinct made John F. Kennedy
President instead of Richard Nixon.
In
1876, one vote in the electoral college gave Rutherford
B. Hays the presidency of the United States.
In
1845, one vote brought Texas into the Union.
In
1776, when American colonists were deciding on the new
country’s official language, just one vote decided
that Americans would speak English rather than German!
One
vote changed France from a monarchy to a republic.
More
than 300 years ago, a one vote margin led to the decision
to execute England’s King Charles I.
As
history has already shown, one vote can make a great
difference.
The
decisions of whom to vote for or what issues you support
are very personal ones, but your decision to participate
and vote affects us all. We encourage you to do your
part and participate in our democracy to keep our country
strong.
