Destructive fires and earthquakes are always a possibility. Much of the injury and damage which is involved in either situation can be avoided or minimized by citizens who are educated about the hazards and how to prepare for them.

At no cost to you or your organization, a Fire Safety Program or Earthquake Preparedness Program is available through the Daly City Fire Department.

The presentations are 45 minutes each in length and consist of a short lecture, and practical methods on how to prepare for either an earthquake or a fire.

• Discussion on smoke detectors, fire extinguishers and exit drills
• Questions and answers

Earthquake Preparedness Program (45 minutes)

• Overview of earthquakes
• Essential earthquake supplies
• Strapping water heaters and How to shut off utilities
• Reunion plans
• Hands-on props to practice utility shut-offs
• Free handout literature
