High Fire Danger
|
 |
Daly
City – As Fall begins and primarily
during the month of October, the North County
Fire Authority wants to remind residents that
fire danger remains high throughout the cities
and county areas of San Mateo County and Red
Flag conditions may present or exist until significant
wetting rains occur. Vegetation Fires can start
quickly and spread rapidly due to low humidity
and wind.
Residents
need to be reminded of these dangerous conditions
and should take appropriate precautions including:
- Reporting any sign of smoke immediately to
the local fire department by dialing 911.
- Use extreme caution when operating spark or
flame producing machinery in hazardous grass
or brush areas.
- Have an evacuation plan and identify two evacuation
routes from your neighborhood. If you are asked
to evacuate by fire or police officials, do
so immediately.
- Remove and reduce safely dangerous vegetation,
flammables and or combustibles from around properties.
You
may obtain additional information on Wild Fire
Preparations and Safety, as well as Vegetation
Management Strategies at www.northcountyfire.org.
