Daly
City, CA – The City of Daly City will be
conducting two Public Meetings to review the
Draft Vista Grande Alternatives Analysis – Alternatives
Evaluation Report. The draft report evaluates
several alternatives in managing storm water
in the northwest portion of Daly City and Unincorporated
San Mateo County.
“This
is an important undertaking affecting a number
or our residents that have experienced flooding
in the past,” says Patricia Martel, City Manager.
“We want to make sure that we can manage our
storm water in an environmentally conscious
way.”
The
meetings will be held at 7:00 p.m. on February
21, 2008 in the City Council Chamber at City
Hall, 333-90th Street, Daly City, and at 7:00
p.m. on February 26, 2008 in the Larcombe Clubhouse,
Westlake Park, 99 Lake Merced Boulevard, Daly
City.
The
program recommended in the draft plan includes
construction of a new storm water tunnel, construction
of a detention basin in Westlake Park, and potential
for treatment wetlands in San Francisco to treat
stormwater for diversion to Lake Merced. The
Draft Vista Grande Drainage Basin Alternatives
Evaluation Report will be available for public
review on February 6, 2008 on the Daly City
website at www.dalycity.org,
or at the Westlake, Serramonte and John Daly
Libraries.
“The public is encouraged to attend,” says Patricia
Martel, City Manager. “At a cost of $145 million
to $200 million, this is the largest public
works project Daly City has ever undertaken.”
