NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
REGARDING PROPOSED WATER RATE INCREASE
|
 |
The City of Daly City will be conducting a Public
Hearing at 7:00 p.m. on June 25, 2007 in the City
Council Chamber at City Hall, 333-90th Street, Daly
City, to review a proposed water rate increase for
the 2007-08 Fiscal Year. This proposed rate increase
would take effect on July 1, 2007.
The proposed rate change involves a combined 9%
increase on the Basic Bi-Monthly Meter Charge, based
on size, along with a 10% volumetric usage charge.
There are multiple factors associated with the need
to adjust water rates. These include a number of
fixed costs associated with operating the public
water system that have dramatically risen over the
years including wholesale water rates, energy, chemicals,
regulatory fees, laboratory and labor expenses.
When larger users are included, it is estimated
that approximately 90% of all single family homes
would experience an increase of less than $5.00
monthly.
