Women’s Health Fair Comes
to the Lincoln Community Center
|
 |
Daly
City - Every woman should understand her
health, do you? On Saturday, July 16, from 10
a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Lincoln Community Center,
a Women’s Health Fair will be held to provide
health screenings and healthy tips for women of
all ages. Various health organizations will offer
on-site screenings, useful information and additional
referrals to interested residents.
Health agencies participating
will include Mills Peninsula Health Services,
San Mateo County Health Department, Sequoia
Hospital, and Seton Medical Center. Exhibitors
will receive information on ways to create a
healthy lifestyle, as well as to record one’s
personal health information. An array of self-help
screening stations for cardiac risk, blood pressure,
breast health education, Body Mass Indexing
(BMI), fitness testing, and grip strength will
be set up at the fair to assist area residents.
Throughout the event, children
will be able to enjoy a scavenger hunt and face
painting. In addition, there will be raffle
drawings for prizes donated from various local
hospitals and organizations. The annual event
is sponsored by the Daly City ACCESS program,
a collaboration of community-based service agencies
and individuals that began in 2001, sponsored
by the Senior/Adult Division of the Parks and
Recreation Department.
