Daly City – Been wanting to stop by the Health Clinic lately but haven’t found the time? On Saturday, April 9th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., a Family Health Fair will be held at Serramonte Center in Daly City to provide health screenings and healthy tips for family members of all ages. Various health organizations will offer on-site screenings, useful information and additional referrals to interested residents.

Health agencies participating will include Kaiser Permanente, Mills Peninsula Health Services, San Mateo County Health Department, Sequoia Hospital, Seton Medical Center, and University of California – San Francisco Pilipino Student Organization. Exhibitors will have information on ways to create a healthy lifestyle, as well as to record one’s personal health information. An array of self-help screening stations for cholesterol, blood pressure, diabetes/glucose, balance assessment and eye exams will be set up at the fair to assist local area residents.

Throughout the four-hour event, children will be able to enjoy a scavenger hunt and face painting. In addition, there will be raffle drawings for prizes donated from various local companies and agencies.

For added convenience, the Daly City Parks and Recreation Department will provide limited bus service from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at three sites: Doelger Senior Center (Lake Merced Blvd.), St. Andrew’s Church (Sullivan and Southgate), and Lincoln Community Center (Acton and Brunswick). The annual event is sponsored by the Daly City ACCESS program, a collaboration of community-based service agencies and individuals that began in 2001, sponsored by the Senior/Adult Division of the Parks and Recreation Department.
