THORNTON BEACH VISTA TO OPEN IN DALY CITY

Joint Project of Daly City, CalTrans, and State Parks Completed

Daly City – Mayor Sal Torres and members of the City Council will join representatives from CalTrans and the State Department of Parks at 9:00 a.m. Friday, October 29, 2004 to formally open the newly completed Thornton Beach Vista immediately west of Interstate 35 (Skyline Freeway) at the terminus of John Daly Blvd. in Daly City.

The Thornton Beach Vista was built within the CalTrans right-of-way in a long-abandoned section of Highway 1 along the Daly City coast. The project includes a 20-car parking lot, interpretive signs, an ocean overlook area, newly planted native vegetation, and solar lighting.
