Top Two MLFA Teams To Play Championship Game

Daly
City – With a perfect season record
of 15-0 and as the Western Conference titleholder
of the Minor League Football Association (MLFA),
the Daly City Renegades will face the Eastern
Conference’s Nashville Mustangs at the national
championship game this Saturday, September 18,
at 6 p.m., at Jefferson High School’s John Madden
Stadium in Daly City.
The Renegades, whose players and coaches are predominantly
from San Mateo County, has been ranked “in the
top ten in every major poll nationwide,” according
to coach Tom Piccolotti, who also serves as a
supervisor for Daly City’s Department of Water
and Wastewater Resources (DWWR).
Daly City’s home team advanced to the title game
by beating the Utah Wildcats 26-14 on August 28.
On the same day in Michigan, the Nashville Mustangs
upset the Grand Rapids Thunder, Eastern Conference’s
top-seeded team, 26-21.
Founded in 2003, the Renegades team holds an impressive
28-1 record in two seasons. The group, which has
contributed over $10,000 to date to Daly City’s
Titan Top Warner youth athletic programs and Jefferson
High School, is a registered 501C3 non-profit
organization.
Admission fee for adults to Saturday’s game is
$5. Children under 12 are free. Various entertainments
will be featured. Parking is available on the
front and back lots of Jefferson High School,
which is located on Bruno Street, off of School
Street. Auxiliary parking will be on Mission Street.
