You RECYCLING?
Unfortunately,
most residents and businesses in Daly City are
not. In Daly City only 19.3% of garbage is getting
recycled! The statewide average is 37%. State law requires
communities to recycle or divert 50%! Failure to do so
could result in heavy fines, as much as $10,000 a day,
which could mean higher garbage bills for everyone.
Here's
how you can
RECYCLE, REUSE or DIVERT materials
away from landfills.
Are
You Sorting Your Trash?
Red Container:
Mixed Rigid Items, e.g., aluminum and bi-metal cans,
glass bottles and jars, plastic bottles.
Yellow Container:
Mixed Papers, e.g., unwanted mail, magazines, phone
books, paper boxes, paper bags.
Blue Container:
Newspapers, e. g., newsprint paper (color ink OK).

What You Can Recycle:
Succulents / Iceplant, plant trimmings, glass clippings,
pine needles, tree limbs, leaves, ivy
What You Cannot:
Trash/Rubbish, bamboo, food scraps, sod, dirt/rocks
Reminder: Place yard waste container at the curb
by 4 a.m. on the designated Recycling Day.
