DC Online - Make a Difference Day

11th ANNUAL MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY CELEBRATION

On Saturday, October 24, 2009, Daly City is celebrating its 11th consecutive celebration of Make a Difference Day. Volunteers are needed for several community projects. All volunteers are invited to the 12:00 Noon post-event barbecue at the City Hall Plaza and Rose Garden.

It is easy to be part of Make a Difference Day. Join us by completing the sign-up information below and selecting the project you would like to support (if you cannot register at the City’s website, please call or send an e-mail to sign-up). Please also print out and sign the release form below. Bring this release form with you to your project site. All minors under 18 years of age must have this form signed by a parent/legal guardian.

	I would like to volunteer for the following project: MISSION STREET LITTER REMOVAL Event Location: Mission Street - start and end points to be determined based on volunteer availability (Volunteers assemble at the War Memorial Community Center Plaza on Mission Street) BAYSHORE LITTER REMOVAL Event Location: To be determined closer to event date (Volunteers assemble at the Bayshore Community Center Entrance, 450 Martin Street, Daly City) ~~GRAFFITI PAINT-OUT~~ FULL Event Location: specific paint-out location(s) to be determined closer to the event date (Volunteers assemble at the City Corporation Yard - 501 Citrus Avenue, Daly City) ~~GARDENING AT GATEWAY GARDEN~~ FULL Limited to 10 volunteers Event Location: North side of John Daly Boulevard between Cliffside Drive and the Chevron Gas Station (Volunteers assemble at the Garden) REUSE EXCHANGE – Open to Daly City and Colma Residents Only (ID Required) Event Location: 350 – 90th Street, Daly City. Selection and Pick-Up from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (3rd Floor) ELECTRONICS RECYCLING Event Location: 333 – 90th Street (Main Parking Lot), Daly City. Recycling will take place from 9:00 a.m. through 2:00 p.m. CHILD SAFETY SEAT INSPECTION Sponsored by: National Safe Kids Coalition, Lucile Packard Children's Hospital, and State Farm Insurance Limited to 10 volunteers Event Location: 280 – 92nd Street, Daly City. Event will take place from 9:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m. Volunteers to assist trained technicians with parent training and installation of child safety seats. Child Safety Seat Inspections will take place by appointment only. All volunteers must complete and submit a release form prior to beginning any work activity associated with Make a Difference Day.
