Using the Library During the Shelter-in-Place Order

The Daly City Public Libraries are closed until further notice due to the Shelter-in-Place order.

The Daly City Public Library is still here to meet your educational and recreational needs during the closure. Use your library card to download ebooks and audio books, watch streaming video, read electronic magazines, and much more.

Curbside Pickup and Holds by Mail

Library patrons can now request items for curbside pickup and postal delivery. At this time only items that are currently available at any of the four Daly City Public Library branches can be requested.

Requesting Items

  • Search our catalog to find items that are available at one of the four Daly City libraries.
  • Submit your request through our holds request form. This form works for both curbside pickup and postal delivery.
  • See the sections below for holds by mail and curbside pickup.

Holds by Mail

  • Postal delivery is restricted to residents of Daly City, Broadmoor, and Colma.
  • There is a limit of four items.
  • Items will be mailed within one week.

Curbside Pickup Appointments

  • Requested items will be available within one to seven days, depending on their location.
  • Book an appointment for curbside pickup after you have been notified that the items are ready.

Overdue Items and Late Fees During the Closure

It is not necessary to return any library materials during the closure. Overdue fines and late fees will not be assessed. All materials are now due on July 31, 2020.
