NOTICE OF NIGHT WORK (June 2, 2011)

 

 

PROJECT SPONSOR

The construction work is being performed by Ghilotti Bros., Inc. on behalf of the City of Daly City and is partially funded with Federal funding.

LOCATION OF WORK

The work location is on Mission Street from Parkview Avenue to Los Olivos Avenue.

PURPOSE AND DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The project work will include installation of a new water main and improvements to Mission Street’s sidewalk and streetscape. The project work will include the construction of a new pedestrian plaza and bus shelters and improvements to the storm drain system, street median, and traffic lane configurations.

CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE

The project work will start in late March 2011 and will be completed by mid-December 2011.

FOUR TO SIX WEEK LOOK AHEAD

Over the period of the next four to six weeks, construction work will occur on the water main on the west side of Mission Street from John Daly Boulevard to Parkview Avenue and on Knowles Avenue from Mission Street to approximately 200-feet west. Construction work will also occur on the new pedestrian plaza on Mission Street near Los Olivos Avenue.

WORK HOURS:

Normal work hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. However, some night work will be performed to expedite the installation of the water main and reduce impacts to Mission Street businesses and daytime traffic within the project limit. Weather permitting, night work is scheduled to occur from 7:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m Monday night June 6 through early Saturday morning June 11 and Monday night June 20 through early Saturday morning June 25.

TRAFFIC IMPACT

Traffic will be temporarily delayed at times as a result of intersection and lane closures necessary to perform the work. Streets will be posted 72 hours in advance of work, with “No Parking / Tow Away” signs to alert the public of the construction and parking restrictions. Parking will be impacted in the construction areas.

Access to private or commercial buildings will be maintained at all times. Please allow extra travel time in case of traffic delays during construction hours.
