Proposition 1B Transportation Bond
Updated February 29, 2012
Background
In November 2006, California voters passed Proposition 1B allowing the State to sell $19.9 billion in general obligation bonds for State and local transportation improvement projects. These funds are to be used to relieve congestion, reduce further street pavement deterioration, improve traffic flows, or increase the safety and security of the transportation system.
Daly City received its full allocation of Proposition 1B funds in two fiscal years: 2007-08 and 2009-10.
Status of Fiscal Year 2007-08 Allocation
Nine-hundred and fifty million dollars ($950,000,000) was appropriated by the State for allocation to cities and counties from the Proposition 1B Local Streets and Roads Account for fiscal year 2007-08. Daly City applied for and received $1,707,511.32 as its share of Proposition 1B funds based on its population.
