The Daly City Police Department invites you to apply to take the FREE Daly City Community Police Academy – a fantastic 8-week course to learn more about policing and build relationships with our Police Officers. You will learn about critical issues in policing directly from experts in the field. Applicants must either work or live in Daly City.

Through our Community Police Academy, we hope to build strong relationships between our residents and Police Officers. Over the course of eight classes, you will not only learn about Daly City’s Police Department, but also critical issues in policing – all taught by experts in the field. Every class will allow for productive discussion on the important issues facing Daly City.

Participants will take a station tour, learn about field operations and the legal context of various laws, participate in use of force and SWAT training and demonstrations, and so much more. Participants will have plenty of hands-on opportunities to learn, such as using the force option simulator.

The Community Police Academy will meet on Thursday evenings over eight weeks. Dinner and child care will be provided each class, completely free of charge. We want to make it easy for you to participate!
