  • Library Assistant I/II: This full time position is in Civil Service. $3440-$4181 monthly. 40 hours/week. Education: High school graduation or the equivalent. Clerical or specialized college level courses in library science, computing or business desirable. Experience: Equivalent of one year of full-time employment performing general clerical or related work, desirably in a public library or other organization requiring considerable public contact. College training may be substituted for the required work experience on the basis of 25 college semester units being equivalent to six months of experience.   • Water & Wastewater Operations Technician: This full time position is in Civil Service. $5774-$7017 monthly. 40 hours/week.  Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience: Three (3) years experience in technical office work performing duties related to design, inspection or operational analysis of public improvement projects. College- level engineering coursework may be substituted for the required experience on the basis of thirty semester units or forty-five quarter units per year of experience up to a maximum of two years. Physical Requirements: May use computers for extended periods, or climb ladders, enter tunnels and confined spaces, and work in adverse conditions which require protective garments and/or exposure to inclement weather, noise, noxious odors, gases, or contact with water and/or wastewater. Experience: Minimum of one year experience working or volunteering with people in a customer service position is desirable. Education: Successful completion of ninth grade. Certification: Possession of an American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification is required to work in the Aquatics area as a lifeguard. Possession of an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification is desirable to work in the Aquatics area as a swim instructor. Applications will be accepted for this position on a continuous basis. The selection process may include a physical activity exam and interview and can begin as soon as vacancies occur.
