Established in 1934, the Recreation Division of the Daly City Department of Library and Recreation Services serves Daly City, portions of San Francisco, Colma, Brisbane, South San Francisco and Pacifica. Today, the Division offers over 259 classes; sponsors adult, teen, and youth athletic leagues; aquatic programs; gymnastics; and provides youth and teen services. The Division employs over 200 youth as lifeguards, recreational staff, park aides and as camp counselors on a continuous basis.
Classes
A large part of the Division's service to the community comes through the variety of classes that are offered. Continuous and new classes restart every three months. Our Library and Recreation Guide, published seasonally, provides a comprehensive listing of all our sites and programs. The Recreation Guide is mailed out to all of the homes in Daly City.
