Viewing Your Library Account
|You can check your library account from any computer with internet access. With the Online Catalog, you can:
Your library card number is your Barcode. Be careful not to lose your card and never give your card number to anyone other than Library staff.
Your library card number is the 14-digit barcode number on the back of your library card (for the card pictured above, it would be 2012312345678).
If this is the first time you are logging into your account online, you will need to create a username. Children under the age of 13 will be assigned a username consisting of a color, animal and number.
Your PIN is the last four digits of your telephone number unless you have previously changed it to something else. If you cannot remember your PIN, you will need to visit the Library in person for assistance.
Items Checked Out
All items checked out on your account will be listed when you click the Total items link. From this list, you can check the due date and renew. For more information on renewing, view Renewing Materials.
Holds (Requested Items)
By clicking the All holds link, you can see a list of all the items you have reserved and whether or not each item is ready to be picked up.
If you no longer want an item, cancel by clicking the checkbox next to the item and then clicking the Cancel button. To have the 75¢ hold fee removed from your record after you have cancelled the hold, contact the Library for assistance. If you do not cancel, the item will be sent back 9 days after arriving at the library and you will still be charged the 75¢ hold fee.
You can check to see if you owe any fines or fees by looking for a Fines link. The total owed will be displayed next to it. For a detailed summary, click on the Fines link or the amount.
Email notification saves trees and is quick and convenient. You can sign up for email notification, or update your email address, by clicking My Settings in the upper right hand corner, entering your address then clicking the Save button. You will need to log in to your email account to verify the address change.
Your PIN (Personal Identification Number)
The purpose of the PIN is to protect your account from unauthorized use. Your PIN is the last four digits of your phone number by default. You can change your PIN by clicking My Settings in the upper right hand corner, entering your current PIN and the new PIN you wish to change to, then clicking the Save button.
If you have forgotten your PIN, you will need to visit the Library in person for assistance.
If you have any questions about your account, have your library card handy and call your local library location.
