Affordable Housing

The City of Daly City generally does not own or operate affordable housing units.   The City’s Housing and Community Development division provides funding for affordable housing projects and monitors them for compliance with the various funding requirements.

  •  Rental:  The County of San Mateo Department of Housing compiles a list of affordable rental housing developments.  The list provides the contact information for each development so that the rental developments may be contacted directly.

  • First Time Homebuyer Assistance:  The City of Daly City does not have a downpayment or financial assistance program to help first time homebuyers purchase a house.  However, there are a wide range of local, County, State and other programs available to interested first time homebuyers in San Mateo County.  Please call the municipalities that interest you to see what programs are available.

  • Recent/current Affordable Housing and Below Market Rate Units:  The City of Daly City has partnered with various nonprofit developers to build affordable housing in Daly City.  Click here for recent and current accomplishments. 
  • AB987:  In compliance with California State Assembly Bill 987, a database has been compiled of existing, new and substantially rehabilitated affordable housing units developed or otherwise assisted with funds from the Daly City Redevelopment Agency’s Low and Moderate Income Housing Fund.  For more information about this database, please contact Daly City HCD at 650-991-8256.
