Electrical Permit Fee Schedule
(Effective October 24, 2008)
Amends Chapter 1, entitled Administration, of the 2007 Edition of the California Electrical Code, provided for the collection of fees thereof.

| The following unit fees shall be used for electrical installations not described above including receptacle, switch and lighting outlets, lighting fixtures, appliances, computer terminals, power apparatus, busways, signs, outline lighting and marquees, services, swimming pools, carnivals, circuses or other traveling shows; and temporary service power poles. |

| A reinspection fee shall be assessed for each inspection or reinspection when such portion of work for which inspection is called is not complete or when corrections called for are not made (Minimum Charge - one hour). | HOURLY

The fee is to be charged at the rate of 5% of the electrical
permit fee. For permits under $67.85 the minimum fee will be
$3.40.
INVESTIGATION FEES
Whenever any work has commenced for which a permit is required
without first having obtained said permit, a special investigation
shall be made before a permit may be issued for such work.
An
investigation fee, in addition to the permit fee, shall
be collected whether or not a permit is then or subsequently
issued.
Investigation fees:
1st
time offenders - established minimum Code Enforcement Fee.
2nd time offenders - three times the amount of the permit fee or established minimum Code Enforcement Fee whichever is greater.
3
or more times offenders - ten times the amount for the permit
fee.
The payment of such investigation fee shall not exempt any
person from compliance with all other provisions of this
code nor from any penalty prescribed by law.
This provision shall not apply to emergency work when it shall be proved to the satisfaction of the Authorized Representative that such work was urgently necessary.
FEE REFUNDS
The Authorized Representative may authorize the refund of any permit fee paid when no work has been done under a permit issued in accordance with this code, or for a permit, which has been paid and is withdrawn or cancelled. The refund shall be the amount paid less $75.
