Are You Recycling?

Unfortunately, most residents and businesses in Daly City are not. In Daly City only 19.3% of garbage is getting recycled! The statewide average is 37%. State law requires communities to recycle or divert 50%! Failure to do so could result in heavy fines, as much as $10,000 a day, which could mean higher garbage bills for everyone.

Here's how you can RECYCLE, REUSE or DIVERT materials away from landfills.

Are You Sorting Your Trash?
Red Container: Mixed Rigid Items, e.g., aluminum and bi-metal cans, glass bottles and jars, plastic bottles.
Yellow Container: Mixed Papers, e.g., unwanted mail, magazines, phone books, paper boxes, paper bags.
Blue Container: Newspapers, e. g., newsprint paper (color ink OK).
