Friends of the Library Host Luncheon
The Friends of the Daly City Library are hosting their annual luncheon meeting on September 29 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Elks Lodge in South San Francisco. The special guest speaker will be San Francisco writer Terry Ryan, author of The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio: How My Mother Raised 10 Kids on 25 Words or Less. Terry will share the poignant story of her prize-winning mother, whose tireless "contesting" transformed the lives of her financially strapped family of 10 children.
She is the writing half of T.O. Sylvester, a long running cartoon in the San Francisco Chronicle and has also written two books of poetry. After a short book reading and questions and answers, Terry will sign copies of her best-selling book, which will be available for purchase at the luncheon. Call (650) 755-7188 now for reservations or more information - don't miss this exciting event and a great chance to support the Daly City Libraries!
