TEAM UP TO HELP HURRICANE VICTIMS

Serramonte Center Serving As Official Red Cross Hurricane Relief Collection Center

WHO: Serramonte Center

WHAT: Serramonte Center, North County Fire Authority and Daly City Firefighter Local 1879 IAFF will team up to aid the victims of Hurricane Katrina. A fire engine from North County Fire Authority will be stationed in the Serramonte Center parking lot between Good Guys and Target off of Gellert Blvd. to accept drive-by donations.

In addition to this one-day collection effort, Serramonte Center will remain an official Red Cross collection site for Hurricane Relief efforts and will take donations at the information booth inside the center indefinitely. Donations can be made at any time during mall hours -- Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. and Sunday, from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.

WHY: Serramonte Center’s Red Cross collections will aid the millions of Gulf Coast residents affected by Hurricane Katrina, potentially the most devastating and costliest natural disaster in U.S. history. Current damage estimates range as high as $26 billion, as thousands have been left homeless and millions more lack electricity. In response to the disaster, the Red Cross is organizing one of its largest single-event relief efforts ever.
