DALY CITY UNVEILS PERMIT
PARKING PROGRAM FOR LOCAL DRIVERS OF COMMERCIAL
Daly City – Daly City’s
six-month pilot program aimed at curbing parking
issues with commercial vehicles will take effect
on Tuesday, July 1st.
Designed to address concerns of residential
neighborhoods impacted by truck parking, as
well as local business owners with commercial
vehicles, the new ordinance will designate certain
streets in Daly City as commercial vehicle parking
(CVP) only. The marked zones will provide drivers
of permitted commercial vehicles a place to
park their trucks from 5 p.m. to 7 a.m., seven
days a week.
The new law includes penalties under the Daly
City Municipal Code. Trucks parked illegally
outside the permitted parking zone will receive
a $250 citation. Vehicles parked in a CVP zone
without displaying the city-issued permit will
get a $100 ticket. Non-commercial vehicles found
parked in a permitted zone will be fined $25
for each violation.
Commercial vehicles eligible for a parking permit
include trucks, buses, limousines exceeding
19 feet in length, and trailers attached to
a truck, and exclude pick-ups. No more than
two permits will be issued for each qualified
Daly City resident or local business owner.
Residents and business owners may apply in person
for a commercial vehicle parking permit from
the Finance Department at City Hall, located
at 333 – 90th Street in Daly City. Applicants
must bring a valid driver’s license, vehicle
registration and a recent utility bill. Each
permit application costs $100, and once issued,
will remain valid through June 30th of the following
