DALY CITY TO HOLD MEETING
ON GROUNDWATER MODELING

Daly City – Daly City will hold an informational meeting about the Westside Basin Aquifer on Wednesday, April 30th, from 6:30 to 9 p.m., at Doelger Café located at 101 Lake Merced Boulevard.

Nearly half of Daly City’s drinking water comes from the Westside Basin Aquifer. In a collaborative effort with the City of San Bruno, the California Water Service Company and the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC), the City of Daly City is working to provide the public the technical aspects associated with groundwater production within the area’s aquifer.

Last summer, Daly City received a $250,000 local groundwater assistance grant from the State of California. Evaluation and consolidation of information to refine groundwater flow models is part of the primary purpose of the state grant. Hydrologists Gus Yates and John Fio, who assisted the City in its grant application, will be at the April 30th meeting to present preliminary modeling work on the Westside Basin Aquifer.
