DALY CITY EXTENDS
STREET SWEEPING PROGRAM
TO BAYSHORE

Daly City – To reduce the amount of litter, debris and pollutants entering the storm water drainage system, Daly City continues its efforts to strengthen and expand its citywide street sweeping program.

The latest addition will be in the Bayshore neighborhood with the installation of 120 “No Parking” signs for street sweeping. Parking on specific blocks will be restricted on Tuesdays or Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to noon. Starting late April, the new restricted parking signs will be posted on the following streets located near the easternmost border of Daly City: Accacia Street, Calgary Street, Geneva Avenue, Jacqueline Court, Jacqueline Lane, Linda Vista Drive, Main Street, Oriente Street, Ottilia Street, Pueblo Street and Rio Verde Street.

Every week, mechanical street sweepers clean all 120 miles of Daly City streets. Because parked cars get in their way, the machines are not able to reach all the curbs and gutters, where litter and debris usually accumulate. Streets without parked vehicles will increase the effectiveness of street sweeping program.

“Cleaner surface streets in Daly City means less pollutants in our storm water drainage system. By observing the designated street sweeping days in their block, our residents could have a direct impact on our environment. Every effort we make today literally means a cleaner bay and ocean tomorrow,” noted Mayor Adrienne Tissier.
