AUTHOR LOIS LEVINE TO
AT DALY CITY LIBRARY FUNDRAISER
Daly City – Lois Levine, co-author
of The New Elegant But Easy Cookbook, will be
the featured guest speaker at the Friends of
the Daly City Library’s third annual luncheon
fundraiser on Saturday, September 20th.
The San Carlos resident will discuss her adventures
while creating the cookbook. An ardent supporter
of public libraries, Levine recently completed
two terms as president of the Friends of the
San Carlos Library. She will be available after
the presentation to autograph copies of her
recently published paperback, which can be purchased
at the event for $12 each.
“Daly City’s library system, which
consists of the main Serramonte Library at Gellert
Park and three branch facilities, has had the
good fortune to have dedicated and enthusiastic
community support. In these tough economic times,
the success of this year’s event will
have an even greater impact. Proceeds from this
fundraiser will go towards the purchase of items
on the library’s ‘wish list’,
which includes DVDs, more books and support
for our auxiliary programs,” Library Director
Carol Simmons elaborated.
The luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. to
2:30 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, 920 Stonegate Drive
(off Hillside Blvd.), in South San Francisco.
To obtain a luncheon ticket (at $25 each), contact
