DALY CITY EXPECTS 700 VOLUNTEERS TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE THIS SATURDAY ON NATIONAL VOLUNTEER DAY


Daly City
- With the theme Daly City: A City That Shares ... A City That Cares, about 700 volunteers are expected to complete over 10 projects on Make A Difference Day, Saturday, October 27. One of the projects involves greeting cards made by 600 school children, which will be delivered to 400 seniors at three convalescent homes in Daly City.

Community groups from diverse sectors – churches, schools, neighborhoods and service clubs (see listing attached) – will visit hospital patients and the elderly, entertain the children of homeless families, plant trees, and clean residential and business districts on this citywide event (see list of projects attached). Starting at 8 a.m., Daly City volunteers will gather at Serramonte Center (entrance near Longs Drugs). The City Council of Daly City will greet the volunteers at 8:30 a.m. City officials will make various appearances at pre-selected project sites until noon (see listing attached).
