Operation Santa Claus Serving Daly City Youth for 66th Year

Delivering food and children's toys to low income families and senior citizens

Operation Santa Claus is celebrating its 66th year of distributing food and toys in the Daly City/Colma/Broadmoor area.  Donate new, unwrapped toys at the Fire Administration Office at 10 Wembley Drive, now through Friday, December 11.  Volunteer drivers are also needed to deliver toys on Monday, December 14. Drivers are asked to check-in at 10 Wembley Drive, on December 14, no later than 6:15 p.m. Vehicles will be loaded promptly at 7:00 p.m.

In today's unpredictable economic times, the definition of families needing holiday assistance includes a new category of the "working poor" - people who are a part of the labor force, but earn less than a subsistence level of income.  It is the goal of Operation Santa Claus to assist these families, as well as our struggling senior citizens, with a warm meal and holiday cheer. Eligible families are screened by Daly City’s Community Services Center.

The program is entirely volunteer-driven and 100% of all monies donated go directly into the program. The community is encouraged to make monetary donations (tax deductible check payable to “Operation Santa Claus”) and to donate new children’s toys. For more information contact the Community Services Center, located at 350 90th Street, at (650) 991-8007, or North County Fire Authority, located at 444 Gellert Boulevard, at (650) 991-8138.

The City appreciates the dedicated support and kind assistance of individuals, businesses, and service organizations that continue to help make Operation Santa Claus successful year after year.
