Junior Giants Baseball and Softball Registration Now Open

The Junior Giants program returns to Daly City for yet another summer of free, fun, non-competitive coed baseball and softball for boys and girls from ages 5 through 13.  Program participants receive equipment, uniforms, and other incentives throughout the season.

Registration is open online at www.gojrgiants.org.  The eight-week league starts June 17, and will take place at both Gellert and Westlake Parks in Daly City.  This year, for the first time in the program’s 25 year history, softball is being offered in addition to baseball.  Junior Giants started in 1994 and is the flagship program of the Giants Community Fund.  Volunteer coaches and team parents are critical to the success of the program.  Coaches do not need prior experience and will be offered support from the local Junior Giants Ambassador and staff from the Daly City Department of Library and Recreation Services.

Participants in Junior Giants will learn the four bases of character development that will be stressed all summer – Confidence, Teamwork, Leadership, and Integrity.  Additionally, players will be encouraged to support the San Francisco Giants’ bullying prevention campaign, maintain summer reading logs, and track healthy eating and exercise each week.
