Free Shuttle Service Offers Commute Opportunity for Daly City's Bayshore Neighborhood

A free, mid-week shuttle originates in the Daly City’s Bayshore Neighborhood each weekday.  The shuttle provides Bayshore residents mobility opportunities in an area with few other public transit options.  Service starts at 6:30 a.m. weekdays and continues through the morning commute, with the last shuttle departing the Bayshore Community Center at 10:38 a.m.  Service resumes in the afternoon with the first departure from the 7 Mile House at 2800 Bayshore Blvd. at 4:00 p.m.

Shuttle destinations include the North Peninsula Food Pantry and Dining Center of Daly City (Top of the Hill), Civic Center (City Hall, DMV, PeninsulaWorks, the Daly City Community Service Center, and Mike Nevin Health Center), Serramonte Center, Seton Medical Center, Safeway, and Walgreens.  The shuttle also provides connections to SamTrans and Muni service (regular fare is required for connecting service).  Additionally, the shuttle has scheduled stops at the Daly City and Balboa Park BART stations.  A complete route map and timetable is available online at

The shuttle is entirely grant funded and managed by the San Mateo County Transit District.  A group of stakeholders from the Bayshore Neighborhood identified the need for a circulator shuttle when they collaborated with staff from Daly City, SamTrans, and the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency to develop a Community-based Transportation Plan.

The shuttle is wheelchair accessible.  For more information about the new Bayshore Shuttle, call SamTrans customer service at 1 (800) 660-4287 or visit
