The City of Daly City will hold a Public Meeting on Thursday, September 23, 2010, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to provide information on the development of the South Westside Groundwater Management Plan.

The work is part of the City's on-going groundwater management program with other water purveyors in the Westside Basin (California Water Service Company, San Bruno, and San Francisco Public Utilities Commission) to collectively manage this groundwater basin. The project is being primarily funded by an AB303 grant from the California Department of Water Resources.

The meeting will provide information on the importance of groundwater as a water supply for the City, needs for management of the groundwater resource, the role of a Groundwater Management Plan, and the role of the public in the development and implementation of the Groundwater Management Plan.

Groundwater provides a safe, reliable, and cost-effective water supply for the City. Public input is sought at this meeting regarding management of this resource. The Public is invited to attend and provide comments at the meeting, which begins at 7:00 p.m. at Daly City Civic Center, City Council Chamber at 333 – 90th Street, in the City of Daly City.
