SamTrans to Hold Stakeholder Meeting to Review Possible Changes to Service

SamTrans community members and riders will have an opportunity to review plans that would improve the efficiency of the bus system in the future. SamTrans will hold a public workshop in South San Francisco to present three possible service scenarios on Thursday, December 8, 2001, at the Municipal Services Building, 33 Arroyo in South San Francisco. Lunch will be provided.

Participants can take the following SamTrans bus routes to the meeting site: 122, 132, 133, 390 and 391.

Since early 2011 SamTrans has been conducting the SamTrans Service Plan (SSP), an in-depth study of the SamTrans bus system. The study has been looking to identify strengths, areas for improvement and recommendations to improve efficiency and increase ridership.

In July 2011 the SSP held a series of public open houses to introduce the project and engage the community and SamTrans riders to gather ideas for how SamTrans should grow and develop. The input from the open houses was used to help develop three possible service scenarios.

These service scenarios will weigh the choices and tradeoffs between increasing services on some routes and modifying and reducing service on other routes. At the workshops, the public have been asked to indicate what aspects of each scenario they find important. This input will be used to inform the draft and final SamTrans Service Plan.
