Public Hearing set for Community Development Block Grant and HOME Program Funding for Mon., December 8, at 7:00pm

The City is holding a public hearing on Mon., December 8, at 7:00pm for community development and housing projects and programs that are eligible for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME funding from the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for fiscal year 2015-2016. This One Year Action Plan includes the City's community development and housing needs priorities, strategies and goals, along with identifying specific projects and programs for funding the CDBG and HOME programs.

The primary objective of the City's CDBG program is the development of viable urban communities that provide decent housing and a suitable living environment and the expansion of economic opportunities, principally for persons of low and moderate income. The primary objective of the City's HOME program is through public-private partnerships to expand the supply of decent, safe, and affordable housing, with primary attention to rental housing for very low-income individuals and families.

The community is encouraged to attend the public hearing and provide input on the proposed projects and programs. The hearing takes place in the Council Chambers located at City Hall at 333 90th Street. The staff report for this agenda item may be viewed on the Council's meeting webpage.
