Volunteers Needed for 14th Annual Make a Difference Day, Saturday, October 27

Daly City celebrates its 14th consecutive year of participation in Make a Difference Day, the National Day of Volunteerism, Saturday, October 27, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Volunteers are needed for several community projects. All volunteers are invited to a post-event barbecue at the City Hall Plaza and Rose Garden at 12:00 p.m.. The barbecue lunch is sponsored by the Daly City Host Lions Club.

You may e-mail the signed release for as an attachment or bring the release form with you to your project site. All minors under 18 years of age must have this form signed by a parent/legal guardian.

Re-Use Exchange for Daly City Families in Need

Donations of new and gently-used items are needed for Daly City’s annual Re-Use Exchange, a component of Make a Difference Day.

The Re-use Exchange will take place at the Daly City Community Service Center, 350 90th Street. Daly City, Broadmoor, and Colma residents are invited to drop-off new and gently used clothing, furniture, toys, and books Monday through Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Donations will be accepted until 3:00 p.m., Friday, October 26. The items donated will be made available at no cost to other Daly City, Broadmoor, and Colma residents on Make a Difference Day.

Individuals and families wishing to participate in the Re-use Exchange must present a Daly City, Broadmoor, or Colma photo identification card, such as a driver’s license. Items NOT accepted at the event include televisions, electronic components, washers and dryers, refrigerators, computers, mattresses, box springs, bed frames, blankets, pillows and sheets, and stuffed animals.  Foir more information about the Re-Use Exchange, please call the Daly CIty COmmunity Service Center, (650) 991-8007.
