Daly City to Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month on Thursday, September 20
The City of Daly City will host its 10th annual National Hispanic Heritage Month celebration on Thursday, September 20, 2012 from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the War Memorial Community Center, 6655 Mission Street. The festivities will kickoff with a welcoming cultural dance by Ballet Folklorico Mexico. The theme of the event is Many Backgrounds, Many Stories…One American Spirit.
Consulate outreach, information tables, a vibrant lineup of cultural entertainment, and children’s Latin-inspired arts and crafts are expected to be the top attractions at this year’s celebration.
Latin food vendors will be on hand to serve tapas-style Latin cuisine at a nominal cost. A full schedule of activities is planned, culminating in a piñata activity for children.
Street parking and limited lot parking is available on Hillside Boulevard and Mission Streets, adjacent to the War Memorial Community Center. The main entrance for the celebration is at 134 Hillside Boulevard. Doors open at 5:00 p.m.
