Filipino American Cine Festival Comes to Daly City October 26 and 27
The 19th Annual Filipino American Cine Festival (FACINE 19) comes to Daly City this Friday, October 26, 2012 at the War Memorial Community Center, 6655 Mission Street. An opening night reception starts at 6:00 p.m. with screenings beginning at approximately 6:45 p.m. The Filipino American Cine Festival is a showcase of both feature-length and short films from the Philippines and the Filipino-American filmmakers. The two day festival will kickoff with Nico’s Sampaguita (Aaron Woolfolk) and Chronicles of the Order & Code Name: Dragonfly (Ron C. Santiano).
The film festival is a continuation of Daly City’s Fil-Am History Month celebration. The festival will resume at the War Memorial Community Center on Saturday, October 27 beginning at 12:00 noon. Saturday’s screenings include, Dognapper (Victoria Donato), Ganap na Babae/Garden of Eve (Rica Arevalo, Ellen Ramos, Sarah Roxas), Triptych (Adrian Alarilla), Ang Sayaw ng Dalawang Kaliwang Paa/The Dance of Two Left Feet (Alvin Yapan), Convoy (Lawrence Sibug), and Ka Oryang/Comrade Oryang (Sari Lluch Dalena).
