Daly City Services During the 2018 Holiday Season - Garbage Collection Changes, City Closure and Parking Enforcement Info

 

Holiday Hours

In celebration of the 2018 holiday season, Daly City offices will be closed on:
Monday, December 24, 2018 through Tuesday, January 1, 2019, 8am - 5pm

The Daly City Police and Fire Departments will remain open throughout the holidays. To report an emergency, dial 911. To report non-emergencies to the Police Department, call (650) 991-8119. 

The Daly City Water and Wastewater Resources Department will also remain open throughout the holidays. To report an emergency, call (650) 991-8200. 

Street Sweeping Notice

Street sweeping will be suspended on the following dates:
Monday, December 24, 2018 through Tuesday, January 1, 2019

Street sweeping will resume on Wednesday, January 2, 2019. 

Police Parking Enforcement

The Police Department will suspend street sweeping parking enforcement on:
Monday, December 24, 2018 through Tuesday, January 1, 2019

However, all other parking enforcement activities, such as parking meter enforcement, will continue to be provided. 

Garbage and Recycling Collection

Republic Services has modified their schedule as follows:

  • Customers with Monday collection days are unaffected by the holidays.
  • For Tuesday collection days, Republic Services will collect on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 and January 2, 2019.
  • For Wednesday collection days, Republic Services will collect on Thursday, December 27, 2018 and January 3, 2019.
  • For Thursday collection days, Republic Services will collect on Friday, December 28, 2018 and January 4, 2019.
  • For Friday collection days, Republic Services will collect on Saturday, December 29, 2018 and January 5, 2019.

Republic’s offices will be open during the holidays except for noon on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve and all day on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. For more information, contact Republic’s Customer Service at (650) 756‐1130 or atwww.republicservicesdalycity.com.

Christmas tree collection will take place on regular service days. Please follow these collection guidelines placing your tree out for collection:

  • Trees must be cut into 6 ft. sections.
  • Stands, lights, and decorations must be removed.
  • Place trees next to green cart for removal. Flocked trees will be collected but not recycled. 
  • Multi‐family residents should contact their property manager for more information regarding disposal or call Customer Service to arrange for pickup.
  • After January 25, 2019, you must cut up the tree to fit in your green‐waste container or call Customer Service to arrange for pickup.
